ByteTown AI Staff

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 7, 2026 · Last updated: October 7, 2026

1.Who we are

ByteTown AI Staff (the “Service”, “we”, “us”) is operated by ByteTown. The Service provides AI staff members: AI agents you talk to in Telegram that carry out tasks you assign and configure, such as working with your spreadsheets, files, email and calendar.

This policy explains what data the Service accesses, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can control or delete it. Questions about this policy: [email protected].

2.Data we access

2.1 Google user data

The Service accesses Google user data only after you sign in with Google and grant permission on Google’s consent screen. The exact permissions are listed on that screen. Depending on the permissions you grant:

DataWhat we use it for
Basic profileYour name, email address and profile picture, to identify which Google account is connected.
Google DriveFiles, folders and their metadata, to find, read, create, organize and update files when you ask a staff member to do so.
Google SheetsSpreadsheet content, to read, analyze and update tables and reports you work with.
GmailMessages, threads, labels and drafts, to search and read your mail, prepare drafts and send email on your instruction.
Google CalendarCalendars and events, to view your schedule and create or update events on your instruction.

If you grant only some permissions, features that depend on the missing ones will not work.

2.2 Data you send in Telegram

2.3 Technical data

Service logs with timestamps, task status and error details. We use them to keep the Service running and to fix problems. Logs are rotated automatically.

3.How we use data

We use the data described above only to provide the features you request: performing tasks you assign or schedule, and showing you the results. We also use it to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

We do not:

4.How AI processes your data

Staff members are powered by Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, PBC. When a staff member works on a task, your instructions and the data needed for that task (for example, the contents of a spreadsheet you asked about) are sent to Anthropic for processing, and the result is returned to the Service. This transfer happens only to perform the task you requested. Our Anthropic account is configured so that this content is not used to train Anthropic’s models.

Voice messages are transcribed on our own servers and are not sent to a third-party speech service.

5.Google API Services: Limited Use

ByteTown AI Staff’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not allow humans to read your Google user data, except when:

6.Who we share data with

We share data only as needed to provide the Service:

We may also disclose data if required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will ask for your consent before transferring your Google user data.

7.Storage, retention and security

8.Your choices

9.Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10.International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, where Anthropic processes requests, and in the country where our servers are located.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you through the Service or by email before the changes take effect.
